TECHNOLOGY Health technology company Medibio has selected R&CPMK as communications AOR in the U.S.
R&CPMK was selected at the end of June following a formal RFP process that started six weeks prior.
Medibio MD Claude Solitario said the company went through an extensive search for the right agency, interviewing five PR firms. In the end, three firms pitched.
R&CPMK is tasked with driving brand development and strategic communications for the upcoming launch of Medibio’s consumer mental health app in the U.S.
“We’ve engaged R&CPMK to develop the go-to-market strategy for our consumer app,” said Solitario.
Medibio aims to address the increased demand for online mental health services through the development of its consumer app, which will be launched and available on Android and iOS platforms in October.
Designed to identify the link between biological markers and mental health conditions, Medibio’s technology allows consumers to self-screen and better understand their own mental wellness. Medibio’s app and algorithms identify how stress is affecting individuals, and in turn produces stress assessment data to offer cognitive behavioral exercises, educational tools and goal setting features to help users develop solutions that improve their mental health.
The app’s launch comes at a time when “mental health issues are becoming much more prominent in the U.S. market,” said Cary Kwok, EVP of digital entertainment, technology and gaming at R&CPMK.
In the U.S., increased stress and anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic has adversely impacted the mental health of an estimated 53% percent of adults, and 71% reported they could have used more emotional support, according to a Medibio statement.
Kwok is leading a team of six staffers on the account.
“This is Medibio’s first consumer product coming to market, so we are the first U.S. agency helping them with the launch,” Kwok explained.
Budget information was not disclosed.
Medibio offers healthcare and mental well-being solutions for businesses and consumers through a suite of advanced technology programs.
In addition to Medibio, R&CPMK works with a number of other clients in the tech and healthcare sectors on its PR, communications and branding efforts, including Cisco, Verizon and Northwell Health. The agency also recently worked with Apple TV+ surrounding the docuseries The Me You Can’t See, executive produced by Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry, which focused on amplifying the global conversation surrounding mental health and wellness.
